Moms Night Out in Sarasota

Last month I had a much needed moms night out with my bestie in Sarasota. The last few times we’ve gotten together we meet there because it’s about the halfway point from where we live (she’s in Tampa and I’m in Southwest Florida).

We decided to spend the night and when I was looking up hotels in the area, Aloft was definitely the place where I wanted to stay. It looked trendy, clean, had nice amenities, was in a great location and had awesome reviews.

When I checked in, I scoped the place out and enjoyed some quiet time in the room while I waited for my friend. I may have watched a crime show…

We decided to walk downtown and grab dinner and while finding a place to eat, we crashed a private party at an art gallery. I was nervous we were going to get kicked out but my friend insisted we walk around (she’s a rebel like that).

It was nice to decompress, talk shit, drink and not be on Mom Mode, even if it was just for the night. I’m realizing more and more how important these little escapes are- not just to get away from the kids but also to get back to ME. It’s not selfish or a luxury. It’s a necessity for me to be show up as my best self. I always return refreshed and “ready” to get back to mom life. Highly recommend.
