Southwest Florida Guide to Fall Festivals

Southwest Florida Guide to Fall Festivals

Fall is my favorite season and since moving to Southwest Florida three years ago, it’s one of the biggest things I miss from New York, There’s nothing like a northeastern Fall; crisp air, the changing leaves, warm beverages and of course, the fashion and “hoodie season/sweater weather”. While I can’t get to New York as often as I’d like, I’m finding more ways to get my Fall fix right here in the sunshine state. Here’s a list of events I’m looking forward to visiting this Fall:

Sarasota Medieval Fair

The Sarasota Medieval Fair is a BIG DEAL and draws crowds from everywhere. This year the fair will be held between November 9th through December 21st. Events include jousting, Taiko drumming, a children’s realm and live music. I’m looking forward to going to this fair with the kids. And yes, we are dressing up in full medieval attire.

Water Lantern Festival

I’ve been following this national event for months now and was so excited to hear that they will be coming to my city this Fall. The event gathers people together to “celebrate life” and set their lanterns onto the water.

Southern Fresh Farms Fall Festival

Fort Myers’ Southern Fresh Farms will be having their annual fall festival from October 6th- October 28th. The festival promises hayrides, vendors, food trucks and more for the whole family.

Oktoberfest Cape Coral

We had a chance to check out Cape Coral’s Oktoberfest our first Fall here and we had a lot of fun. I had a newborn at the time so I didn’t get to sample the beers but this time, I am definitely throwing a few back to accompany all the delicious German good. The German potato salad alone is worth checking it out.

Cape Coral Veg Fest

Since eating a more vegan friendly diet recently, I was excited to see that Cape Coral id having their own veg fest. The event takes place on Sunday, November 24th.

Taco Fest

This family-friendly event will feature live music, food trucks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and a kid’s area. Vendors will be selling $2 t
