Not Without My Coffee

Summer Bucket List

When Olivia wrapped up her school year a few weeks ago, I asked her to start thinking about some things she wanted to do over the summer.  Thankfully, her list was just how I like it; simple and since our Christmas Bucket List was a success, I figured we should try one for the summer season, too.   Here are some things we're looking forward to doing this summer:

More Beach Days

It hasn't been only until very recently that I've enjoyed going to the beach with the kids.  As anyone with small children knows, a day at the beach with little ones, is no day at the beach!  I used to think back to the days when I was single, lived walking distance to the beach and would grab a towel and a book and be gone for the day. That is no longer the case.  But, with the kids getting a little older and me learning how to be the perfect beach bum family- it's getting easier to head out with the clan and actually enjoy a beach day.

Visit Water Parks

Olivia made it very clear she wants to visit some water parks and I'm totally game.  Again, a little scary trying a water park with three little ones but I'm gaining confidence in juggling my kids AND having a good time.  Here's one we plan on visiting this summer.

Camping

I was surprised to hear that my glamour girl wants to go camping.  My husband and I went camping ONCE pre-babies and I didn't make it the whole weekend because I couldn't have my coffee.  As soon as we drove off the campsite I headed to Dunkin' Donuts (the struggle is real. I didn't name this blog Not Without My Coffee for nothing!).  I'm open to trying again. This time we will plan better, glam it up and ensure coffee is packed.

Road trip

Olivia has been asking to go to New York to visit family and friends so summer break might be a good time to make the drive north.  We've also talked about visiting some other cities too.  I'm pushing for New Orleans or Savannah but we might also wait until the fall to visit those hot Southern cities.

Arts & Crafts Projects

Like most kids, my daughters love doing crafts and I'm embarrassed to say that I am so not that mom. AT. ALL.  All I can focus on during any arts and craft projects is the mess that I will need to clean up.  But, I asked and this was their request so we'll be checking out Pinterest for some craft inspiration.  This will also take the focus off making slime every night because that's driving me crazy.

What are you looking forward to this summer?
