Perfecting Your Elevator Pitch
Have you perfected your elevator pitch yet? You know, the brief introduction of who you are and what you do that you should be using at networking events or when you meet people you may want to do business with. An elevator pitch is important because it refines your mission to those you want to connect with.
There are plenty of resources on how to create an elevator pitch but I find that narrowing it down to the essentials is just as effective. Yes, even my elevator pitch is simple.
To create an effective elevator pitch, start with a brief introduction on who you are what you do. Second, state the value and benefit in what you do. Are you able to save customers money? Do you make a complicated process easier? Include that in your pitch. Lastly, let the person you're chatting with know that you want to connect. Exchange contact information and be sure to follow- up. Even better, send them a resource like a free e-book or some tips on one of the services you provide. This gives them an incentive to connect with you and stay in touch!
