Oktoberfest In Southwest Florida

Yesterday we took the fam to Oktoberfest in Southwest Florida.  It's one of the events I was really looking forward to since moving down here and it's also one of the largest Oktoberfest's in the state.  The festival is hosted by the German American Social Club in Cape Coral.

Most people come for the beer but I couldn't wait to get my hands on some authentic German food.  As soon as we got there we made a bee line for one of the many kiosks. But this sign definitely caught my eye...

My husband and I both got the same dish, something we never do because we like to pick off each others' plate but it sounded too good so we doubled up; two different sausages, sauerkraut and the German potato salad- that was amazing.  Any time you add bacon to a dish, it automatically becomes amazing.

Olivia, as usual,  wanted to get on the rides and surprisingly, Julia managed to get on the swings without me having to convince her.  She really surprised me.  I was a a proud mom.  She's usually hiding in between my legs while her big sister enjoys the rides but she really came out of her shell yesterday.
